My Cody Puppy: by Sharon Rose
Cody is my sweet golden lab. And let me start by saying this, what a handsome devil he is! The black around his eyes is so stunning and he has this cute little swirl in his coat, just behind his front leg. He is a true hunting dog. The minute the leaves start to change, he is at the window, barking at the ducks and the geese!
When he was just a pup, I remember taking him out in the fields, getting him used to the reeds and the outdoors. Living in the Midwest meant that he also needed to get used to the snow. Well, this was no problem, Cody LOVED the snow!!! The first time Cody saw snow, he kind of backed away, as if to say, "What is this stuff?!" I nudged him out the door and he kind of stumbled a little as he sunk into the 'wierd white stuff.' To his delight, he found that snow was edible and he began to plunge into the snow with a huge smile on his face!
Cody is now an 80 pound golden retriever who is an avid hunter in the fall and a fun, bright dog in the summer and winter! I love him as if he were my own child. We walk, we talk and we snuggle! It doesn't get any better than this!
